From The Violin Channel
Violinist and violist Milena Simović has launched her new Note Worthy online platform, which aims to present discussions and educational resources about professional music-making and the classical music industry.
The discussions will cover a selection of topics, including the featured artists’ concert preparation process, their career milestones, technical advice, and more. Presenting musicians will also offer question-and-answer sessions with participants.
Violinists Maxine Kwok, Alexandra Conunova, Nemanja Radulovic, and Nicola Benedetti are among those scheduled to offer Note Worth sessions. Simović aims to schedule sessions on a weekly basis.
“I have always wanted to create a platform where, in a casual and friendly setting, those who inspire us most can answer questions we’ve been grappling with,” Simović told The Violin Channel. “From big questions to small, we will be tackling the concerning ones too: comparing ourselves to the social media perfection and how to escape it, [or] learning that there’s no way to win the comparison game.
“I have come to the conclusion that we are all tired of the perfection we are being served online. The unreliability of information and the shallowness of performative actions directly impact our mental health as musicians as well as our musicianship, and first and foremost as functioning humans. All the musicians I talk to are hungry for honesty. This is what this platform is for—an honest, friendly discussion between aspiring or established musicians and the industry veterans with proven track records of successful careers.”
